By learning a community language, young Australians can build good language proficiency and are better connected to the heritage and culture of their community.
It is beneficial for young Australians to learn a community language other than English as Australia is a multicultural country. Being bilingual will enable people to better connect with the heritage of their cultural background. It also helps to foster stronger relationship between communities as well as respects for the many different cultures in Australia.
