
Chris Minns MP Visited CASS To Present A Funding Cheque
On Thursday morning, 3rd December 2020, State Member for Kogarah, Chris Minns MP visited the CASS Hua Kang Activity Group in Hurstville and was warmly received by CASS Chairperson, Dr Bo Zhou, and Deputy Chairperson/Secretary, Mr. Anthony Pang.
Dr Bo Zhou welcomed and thanked Chris Minns paying visit to members of the CASS Hua Kang Dancing Group at the Hurstville Senior Citizen Centre.
He stated that CASS operates over 25 Activity Groups all over the Metropolitan Sydney and Hua Kang was one of the first senior activity groups initiated by CASS over two decades ago. The group meets on every Thursday and Friday at the Hurstville Senior Citizens Centre. Mr Minns has been visiting the Group regularly but this is his first visit since the pandemic.
Mr Minns said that in spite of global challenges, including COVID-19 outbreak, large-scale social conflicts etc., our community remains harmonious. This is because Australia is a truly multicultural country, people from various cultural backgrounds show respect to each other with inclusiveness. He was honoured to have worked with CASS for many years in servicing the multicultural community and he would continue supporting CASS and contributing to our community.”
Mr Minns announced a good news and presented CASS with a cheque of $13,750 as part of the Community Building Partnership 2020 funding round to support the CASS Gumnut Early Learning Centre – Hurstville to upgrade its facilities and further enhance the service quality.
Dr Bo Zhou and Mr Anthony Pang accepted the cheque on behalf of CASS and expressed their appreciation.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr Minns presented each attendee with a portable size hand sanitiser. Attendees of the event thanked Chris Minns for his care, thoughtfulness and support.
