Dance Therapy โ a wonderful healing experience – March 2022
How delightful to see seniors dancing joyfully in our Dance Movement Therapy Program !
Aiming to empower seniorsโ health and wellbeing, CASSโ 4-week Dance Therapy program has brought to a successful conclusion.
Exercise is one of the key activities to boost our physical and mental health. Over the last 2 years, the COVID-19 pandemic brought many challenges to every walk of life. Staying at home for prolonged periods of time makes it hard to remain physically active, while lack of exercise significantly affects mental health and wellbeing.
โI stayed at home, feeling aimless and unmotivated. Nothing interested me.โ One of our senior students shared.
Concerning how COVID-19 affect seniorsโ health and wellbeing, we invited the dance movement therapist, @Sandra Perrin, to share the tips and tricks to boost seniorsโ mental health, and an interpreter to help seniors overcome language barriers and share their experiences freely with others.
This was proven to be a marvellous decision!
From the start of the first course, the dancing room was immediately filled with joy, laughter, and love.
โI was glad CASS invited me to attend the course. It was very helpful.โ Another student said excitedly, โIโve learnt to love myself and I would love to encourage more people to join this program.โ
