【Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer, along with esteemed senior members of NSW Health visited CASS head office in Campsie】
As a multicultural service provider, CASS proudly cares for the well-being of the local community. And that is why we were excited to host Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer, along with esteemed senior members of NSW Health, at our head office in Campsie on 16 April.
Joined by the key representatives of the NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service, including Director Ms Lisa Woodland, Deputy Director Ms Jesusa Helaratne, and Media and Communications Manager Ms Jie Cao, they received a warm reception from several senior members of CASS, led by our Chairperson, Professor Stephen Li.
A highlight of the visit was a heartfelt detour to the Campsie Activity Hall, where Dr Chant and her colleagues had the chance to meet CASS seniors face-to-face. For many, it was a joyful reunion with these familiar, friendly faces that they had only seen on television during the challenging days of the pandemic.
During her visit to the CASS Campsie Residential Aged Care Facility, Dr Chant was truly impressed by the outstanding and compassionate services offered at this rare 5-star aged care facility. She expressed her appreciation for CASS’s thoughtful efforts to assist seniors with dementia, including the decking area featuring a donated bus pole from Hong Kong to reimage the prominent landmark from their hometown in Hong Kong. With the assistance of our General Manager of Ageing Services, Ms Kit Chung, Dr Chant engaged in a friendly conversation with a senior resident, when she admired her hand-knitted hosiery that added a personal touch to her living space.
In the conference room, they explored more about CASS’s mission through a captivating video documentary and meaningful discussions. Dr Chant acknowledged the vital role that CASS plays in acting as a bridge between mainstream Australian society and ethnic communities, particularly in disseminating important health messages.
