【Dragon Boat Festival celebration with Jerome Laxale MP】
The Office of Jerome Laxale MP , Federal Member for Bennelong, organised a dynamic Dragon Boat Festival celebration at the West Ryde Community Centre on 7 June. This event successfully facilitated cultural exchange and fostered a sense of joyful camaraderie among the participants, including members of Chu Yun Art Group, a Chinese activity group supported by CASS, and the CASS Korean Harmonica Interest Group.
Mr Jerome Laxale MP was joined by the distinguished guests, including Hon Steve Kamper MP, Minister for Multiculturalism; Clr Bernard Purcell from the City of Ryde; and CASS senior members Mr Tony Pang OAM, Deputy Chairperson and Secretary, and Mr Ivan Wong, General Manager of Strategic Support and Community Services Directorate.
Approximately 80 individuals from the Chinese and Korean communities attended the event, which featured a variety of activities such as speeches, cultural performances and games.
We embraced the opportunity to reflect upon and appreciate cultural traditions, as we joyfully connected with partners and participants from diverse cultural backgrounds.
