【Several members of parliament expressed their sincere appreciation for Ivan Wong’s service to the community】

We are excited to announce that our esteemed General Manager, Mr Ivan Wong, has retired after more than three decades as a valued member of the CASS team and is now serving on our Board of Directors. His unwavering dedication to the community has earned him well-deserved recognition, with several members of parliament expressing their sincere appreciation for his outstanding contributions.

The Hon Tony Burke MP, Federal Member for Watson and Minister for Home Affairs, the Arts, Cyber Security, Immigration, and Multicultural Affairs, proudly celebrated Ivan’s lifelong commitment to serving the community. Burke highlighted that Ivan’s influence extends well beyond CASS, as he has been a strong and effective advocate for multiculturalism and community cohesion.

Ms Sally Sitou MP, Federal Member for Reid, recognised Ivan’s outstanding contributions to childcare, disability support, and vocational training. She emphasised his remarkable ability to inspire future leaders and his enduring legacy of compassionate and inclusive service.

The Hon Sophie Cotsis MP, State Member for Canterbury and NSW Minister for Industrial Relations and Work Health and Safety, commended Ivan for his relentless advocacy for equity in aged care. She highlighted his critical role in collaborating with various organisations to make certain that the needs of diverse communities are addressed with unwavering compassion and respect.

Mr Jason Li MP, State Member for Strathfield, acknowledged Ivan’s transformative influence on CASS. Under his visionary leadership, CASS has successfully evolved from a small entity into a comprehensive service provider. Jason commended Ivan’s unwavering dedication and strategic foresight, which have significantly impacted the lives of multicultural communities throughout New South Wales.

Ivan’s retirement marks a significant milestone, and the recognition from these esteemed politicians highlights the profound impact of his work. In his new role as CASS Vice Chairperson, he will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide future generations in the pursuit of a connected and culturally respectful community.
