On 26 February 2025, CASS Gumnut Early Learning Centre – Campsie had the pleasure of welcoming the Hon Prue Car MP, the Deputy Premier of NSW and Minister for Education and Early Learning, along with the Hon Sophie Cotsis MP, our Minister for Industrial Relations and Work Health and Safety. What a fantastic day for our centre!
The day began with a vibrant reception hosted by the dedicated CASS team, including Mr Henry Pan OAM, Foundation Chairperson/Honorary Executive Director; Ms Tica Lee, Vice-chairperson; Ms Dorothy Hung, General Manager of Child Care Services; Ms Kitty Leong, Senior Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs; Ms Wei Shi, Executive Officer of Child Care Services; and Ms Fanny Wong, Executive Support Officer of Family Day Care Services.
The MPs enthusiastically engaged with the eager children, participating in playful games and a delightful brunch filled with laughter and cheer.
Minister Car also took a heartwarming detour to visit the seniors of Hua An Activity Group. There, the cheerful group enjoyed a lively session of lucky draws, creating fond memories together, and they all posed for a charming group photo, further deepening their connections across language and generations.
In the conference room, an engaging dialogue took place, during which Minister Car learned about the wide range of services that CASS has provided to multicultural communities over the years. She expressed particular admiration for the impressive milestone of 43 years achieved by CASS Family Day Care Services, emphasising the invaluable contributions CASS has made.
This marked Minister Car’s first visit to CASS, following her prior attendance to the prestigious State of our Sector 2024 ceremony organised by the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) in 2024, where she proudly presented CASS Family Day Care Services with the esteemed award recognising “Most Significant Contribution Towards Early Childhood Education & Care Benefits for Families,” a testament to CASS enduring commitment to supporting families in the community.
