On Thursday, 6 October 2022, CASS Moon Festival Competition Award Presentation Ceremony was successfully held in CASS Activity Hall.

We were pleased to see the event gathered over 60 special guests, and shortlisted candidates with their families and friends from multicultural backgrounds, including Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese. We were also glad to have Jason Yat-sen Li MP, Member of Strathfield, and other sponsors, including Mrs Mimi Ho of Little Whales Wellbeing Centre and Ms Grace Lee as well as Mr Benny Lee from IRest Australia.

CASS Board members, including Dr Leng Tan, Emeritus Chairperson; Ms Tica Lee, Mrs Teresa Chu and Mrs Winnie Fung, warmly received them.

In her welcoming speech, Dr Leng Tan thanked all the participants for their hard work and the sponsors for their generous support. She stressed: “The Moon Festival last year was within the lockdown period which made it impossible to celebrate such traditional festival openly with our loved ones. Therefore, CASS initiated the “My Family, My Home” Moon Festival Competition to provide a platform for people to express their love for their families and hometowns.”

The competition was well-received by the intergenerational and multicultural communities, with candidates aged ranging from 5 – 70 years old and from various backgrounds!

After sponsors presented awards for the candidates, everyone enjoyed tasty refreshments and shared the joy of the event. The ceremony ended successfully with everyone’s laughter.
