On 17 June, CASS organised an online birthday party for Hua Xing Group’s elder Mr Pu Jiu Zhang, to celebrate his 100th birthday. Over 70 people joined the celebration both online and at CASS activity hall. Dr Bo Zhou, Chairperson of CASS and Mr Henry Pan, Honorary Executive Director of CASS were present to express their best wishes.

For this celebratory event, CASS specifically informed the relevant government bodies to arrange congratulatory messages from The Queen, Governor-General of Australia, Prime Minister of Australia, Premier of NSW, Mayor of the City of Canterbury Bankstown and Members of Parliament. These were all well received in forms of birthday cards and letters to Mr Zhang and had surely given him a BIG surprise!

On the day of Mr Zhang’s birthday, 20 June, Mr Anthony Pang, Deputy Chairperson of CASS and Members of the Hua Xing Group celebrated with him at his home. Fresh flowers were also received from the Mayor of City of Canterbury Bankstown. Mr Zhang expressed that it was the first time he had ever celebrated with so many people and he thanked CASS for organising such a special birthday celebration!
